Two Dimensional Electrophoresis And Fusion Method Assignment Help
Two Dimensional Electrophoresis
In this method, the protein extract is placed on a polyacramide gel and an electric charge is applied across the gel separating proteins according to their molecular weight. When the gels are stained, proteins are reveled as spots; typical gel shows 200-10000 spots. The fragments are analyzed by mass spectrometry, which is called peptide mass fingerprinting. To identify the proteins, the mass of peptides is compared with the masses predicted from data in protein databases.
Domain Fusion method (Rosetta Stone Method)
This method searches for functionally related proteins that are separate in some organisms but are fused into a single protein in others.
