The revolution was raised by people in 1789 to change and redesign the system of the country. People have changed the way the country was ruled. The political landscape was completely changed by the people. It was in the reign of King Louis XVI that this incident took place and it somewhere led to the foundation of democracy. The rise of the third estate in France is the main reason why people have united together for the cause of the revolution. French was divided into three estates. The first was the clergy the second was the nobles and the third was everyone else. All the reasons that have been mentioned, like an increase in the prices of bread, financial loss, and the unfair feudal system of France, raged common people and this led to the revolution. The unfair voting system of the country where each estate has one vote. According to the records, the first estate with 300 members has one vote, the second estate with the same number of people has one vote and the third estate with 600 members has one vote. This creates the resentment in minds of people. It was the third estate that came forward for changing the voting rules in the country.

An event took place from the side of third estate members where the people gathered in the tennis court and demanded that they would not leave the court till the king would not agree to their demands. This event was marked by the name of “The tennis court Oath”. King Louis finally agreed to the demands of the people and this leads to the formation of The National Assembly. It was in July when peasants were dying of hunger. People cannot afford the food. Peasants started assembling on the streets of Versailles. King ordered the troops to control the mob. People attack the Bastille and the king imprisoned many people in that riot. People started the moment against the king, many freed prisoners and took the weapons.

The Declaration of the rights of man was the first achievement of the French Revolution. The National Assembly decides that nobles will also pay the taxes and the rights of voting changed. This made people enlighten of their powers and their status equal to that of the noble class. There was rage in the action of people. The novel Tale of the Two Cities is set in the same period.

There was a complete reversal in the system to run a country by the radicals. These radicals were often called the Jacobins. There was the constant threat of other nations from France’s side. Fear in the minds of the ruler’s that this might became the situation of their own country. To stop that many countries tried to invade France. Countries like Austria, Prussia (now Germany), Britain, Spain waged war against the country to invade and rule them. But radicals fought with them. This made it easier for the radicals to exercise power in the country.

It was the Robespierre government that searched and ruled out all the rules that were seen as a threat to the revolution. Another incident which marked as an important event in the French Revolution was the Reign of Terror. Many people had been hanged who seems to violate revolution.
