JOVIAL Programming Language Help For Students
JOVIAL is an acronym for “Jules Own Version of the International Algorithmic Language.” The “International Algorithmic Language” was a name originally proposed for ALGOL 58. It was developed to compose software for the electronics of military aircraft by Jules Schwartz in 1959. Jovial is an old language originally developed for real time systems. A programming language designed by Jules Schwarz of System Development Corporation for military command-and-control systems. It was based on the international algorithmic language (IAL), otherwise known as Algol 58 suitably extended for its purpose. JOVIAL was implemented on a number of military computers, and is still in use for military projects in the US.
