Veterans Day is an official holiday in United States, falling on 11 November 11 every year. On Veterans Day, we honor people who have served in the USA Armed Forces. These people are known as Veterans. This day also marks the anniversary of the World War I whose hostilities were ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, also known as the Remembrance Day or the Armistice Day in other parts of the World. This should not be confused with the Memorial Day. Veterans Day is to honor all those who have served in the US armed forces, while the Memorial Day commemorates those who lost their lives while serving the nation.
Most popular brands offer a variety of deals, discounts and even Freebies for Veterans on the Veterans Day. Most of these offers serve active as well as retired/ inactive military personnel. Here is a list of some of the offers we are aware of.
Some of the brands offering free meals to Veterans include Applebee’s, Chili’s and California Pizza Kitchen. Applebee’s will be offering free entrees to all active military men and veterans.
Starbucks is offering a free, tall (12oz.) cup of brewed coffee on Tuesday, November 11 to all U.S. military veterans including active military personnel as well as their spouses.
Bob Evans is holding an All-You-can-eat Hotcakes offer for all veterans and active military members; from 6 AM to 10 PM.
Krispy Kreme is giving out a free donut and a small coffee to all veterans and active military members on 11 November.
T.G.I. Friday’s is offering free lunch (from select menu) for all Veterans and active duty military on 11 November from 11 am – 2 pm with military ID.
Red Lobster is offering veterans and active-duty military people a free appetizer from Monday, November 10 until Thursday, November 13. Bonanza Steakhouses and Golden Corals are also serving free dinner buffet to all veterans and active military.
All Veterans and active military members can use the health club at 24-Hour Fitness for free, all day long on 11th November.
Grocery Stores such as Harris Teeter, Publix and Food Lion are also offering discount on bills to the veterans and active military members.
Great Clips will be offering a free haircut on 11/11 to military personnel and veterans. They can also receive a free haircut card to redeem by Dec. 31, 2014. The non-military customers of Great Clips salon can also get a free haircut card to give to any veteran. Similar offer of free haircuts is also on Sports Clips .
To avail these discounts, the stores may require some proof such as a Military ID.
