Dark ages of Designing(1989-1992)

When the word ‘Internet’ was came into existence and people heard about it then there is nothing to look on web pages there were only text. But now web pages are more dynamic then they were at the first stage of evolution, there are images, animation or even variety of colors available. There were no design which make page attractive no speak out quality, all the text is left align, and colors were also limited to black, white and green. But now things have changed.

Now the term slicing became popular. And designer and developers figure out there best way to design fancy layout. Advantages of using tables is align things vertically and defined in pixels and percentages. Somewhere it is closest to grid.

JavaScript and Flash comes to the rescue(1995-1996)

If you need a popup window in your web page so you have to dynamically modify the order of something but the alternative with the better option we can use Javascript. Javascript comes to overcome the limitation of HTML. Developers can easily develop and powerful web pages if they used wisely. But the problem with javascript is that file has to be loaded separately because it layered on the top which make web work.

A Flash tool in which designer could design in any shape, layout, animation and interaction by using any font all bind in one file and sent on browser to display. This tool come to break the limitation of existing web pages and provide better freedom to design. Later flash tool comes in plugin which user can use and it worked like magic. But it is not too open and user friendly when Apple decide to use in iPhone it start decay for the web pages.

{'{CSS}'} Introduced(1998)

Cascading style sheet which separate content from presentation which proofs a better approach to structure design. So the look and formatting is defined in CSS and all the content in HTML which is far from flexible in first version but problem with it is adoption rate by browsers. CSS is defined as declarative language.

Grids and Framework(2007)

Browsing the web page on mobile itself define a new problem of content-parity. Designer face so many questions in his mind and the way how to deal them like designing should be same on the tiny screen or should be stripped down or were to put all blinking tags in mobile view and sped also an issue.
