Its purpose is to present a graphical overview of the functionality provided by a system in terms of actors, their goals (represented as use cases), and any dependencies between those use cases

Actor: The role that an outsider takes on when it interact with the business system is represented by an Actor. For instance, an actor can be a customer, a business partner, a supplier, or another business system. Every actor has a name.
